Analysis and visualization of business data

This 2-day course is designed for managers and professionals in businesses that require fact-based decision making, fact-based improvement work and fact-based control of the performance of products and processes.

You will learn about methods and tools to standardize the visualization and analysis of business data.

The course is part of Aksena’s Black Belt Lean Six Sigma course.

More details about the module content

  • Course Content

The course introduces important tools for standardized visualization and analysis of business data without using formulas.

    Key topics included:

    • Different basic tools for visualizing data
    • The importance of understanding variation
    • Distributions and what they tell us
    • Sampling/spot checking of data
    • Estimation of parameters
    • Uncertainty in estimation
    • Measurement system analysis – are we measuring what we intend to measure?
    • Hypothesis testing – we measure a difference, but is it significant?
    • Durability studies – what is the performance in relation to specifications?
    • Linear regression analysis – can we explain the variation observed?
    • Experimental trial design and why it’s important

An overview of the tools included can be found further down the page.
